It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2012 in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The forum provides an educative and informative meeting ground for local, regional and international experts.
Over the Kingdom's horizon of ongoing public service delivery, a new philosophy took place and has already taken the right path towards shaping the future, arising from an evolving mindset change - that governments needs to constantly provide solutions to address all the needs of their citizens.
In response, Bahrain government entities are currently extending their focus beyond efficient and effective e-Government practices, in the forms of facilitating collaborative service creation and building close relationships with citizens and businesses in eGovernment initiatives. The future of eGovernment will continue to be the product of consultation and collaboration, generated by the swell demand for greater responsiveness and creativity.
Pivoting on the success of four consecutive events, the eGovernment Authority, the Bahrain Society of Engineers, Project Management Institute-Arabian Gulf chapter, and the Bahrain Internet Society, are proud to once again organize The Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2012.
The Forum provides an integrated technical program, featuring a number of internationally renowned keynote speakers to discuss and assess the sector's recent issues, make timely strategic course corrections, and plan a road map for the future. In addition to a wide variety of interactive workshops and poster sessions, all carefully selected to better shape government strategies and implementations across the GCC market in particular.
The forum held last year had received an overwhelming response with over 400 delegates including ICT representatives, senior public sector officers, business leaders, and experts from global bodies that benchmark eGovernment performances at local, regional and international levels.
This year, we are confident that the forum will mark similar success, and achieve the desired goals and objectives. I urge companies and government bodies to fully support the event and I look forward to seeing you all in the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2012.
Wish you all the best
A. Majeed Al Gassab
Chairman of the Executive Committee,
